Missouri Minimum Car Insurance Requirements
In Missouri, liability car insurance is mandatory for all drivers. Liability insurance covers only the other car and/or that car’s driver and passengers when you are found at fault for the accident. Your liability insurance minimums for Missouri are:
- $25,000 bodily injury liability per person
- $50,000 bodily injury liability per accident
- $10,000 property damage liability per accident
In addition to liability insurance, Missouri also requires insurance companies to include uninsured motorist coverage. This added layer of protection covers you if you’re involved with a driver who has no car insurance. The minimum insurance requirements for uninsured motorists are as follows:
- $25,000 bodily injury per person
- $25,000 bodily injury per person
While minimum car insurance requirements in Missouri are predefined, they are not meant to be a cap on how much coverage you can or should get. You may personally opt for more coverage to protect your financial assets and your vehicle and/or passengers.
